Two dead bodies recovered in Barisal and Jhalakathi

crime-scene-murder-do-not-crossOne unidentified slaughtered dead body of a youth recovered from a pond at the Kawnia branch road area of the city on Tuesday noon.

Mahbubur Rahman, Kawnia police station in charge, said informed by the local people police recovered slaughtered dead body of a male youth wearing jeans pant and check shirt floating in a pond of that area.

Till this report the body was not identified by any one and police lodging a case of unnatural death sent the dead body to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital for autopsy, police sources said.

On other hand police recovered a dead body of an auto-rickshaw driver from Sujabad area under Nalcity upazila of Jhalakathi district on Tuesday morning.

The victim was identified as Mainul Islam Mamun, 18, son of Nasir Haoladar from Baroikhali village under Morelganj upazila of Bagerhut district.

AZA Masuduzzaman, Nalcity police station in charge, said the hand-legs tied dead body was recovered from an abandoned well at the garden of Shamsu Master on basis of the information of the local people and his battery-operated auto-rickshaw was recovered from the roadside .

Police assumed that murderer in disguise of passengers strangling the victim by tying rope on neck and then thrown in the well on Monday night after looting three-batteries worth Tk.33 thousand from his auto-rickshaw. Dead body was sent to Jhalakathi General Hospital for autopsy.

Nasir Haoladar, father of the victim, lodged a murder case in this connection with Nalcity police station without mentioning any name of the accused.

Mamun was residing at Ruapatali area of Barisal city with his family members and driving auto-rickshaw for passengers on
Barisal-Jhalakathi-Barisal route, family sources said.
