Capsized launch recovered, Death toll increased to 16

The passenger launch capsized after caught in nor’wester storm on Ramnabad River of Galachipa upazila under Patuakhali district on Saturday afternoon salvaged on Sunday night.

Salvage vessel Hamza from Barisal reaching at the spot started salvage operation at about 5:00 pm and completed that about 9:00 PM Sunday night, said, Abul Bashar Majumdar, and deputy director BIWTA from the spot.

No dead body was recovered from inside the salvaged vessel. After the vessel floating on river bed, it tied at the shore in front of local police camp and declaring savage operation as completed Hamza starts return journey from the spot to Barisal base, said Jasimuddin, commanding officer of salvage vessel Hamza.
