9 injured including 6 by gun-shots in Jhalakathi robbery

An armed dacoit gang attacking house of bridal ceremony party injured 9 including 6 by gun-shots at Kushangal village under Nalcity upazila of Jhalakathi on early Sunday.

The injured victims admitted at Barisal Sher e Bangla Medical College Hospital.

Abul Khayer, Nalcity police station officer in charge, visiting the spot and quoting the injured victims said a gang of 10/15 armed dacoit gang cover face with mask attacked the house of Malek Haoladar at Kushangal village at about 3:00 AM Sunday.

The residents of the house were preparing to arrange a bridal party of the marriage ceremony of Sabuj Haoladar scheduled to be held on Sunday noon,

The dacoit gang attacking the house made the residents and guests as hostages and looted 20 tola gold ornaments, cash money Tk 80 Thousand and other valuables worth Tk 13 lakhs.

The miscreants opening fire injured six and by beating injured two others of the house when they tried to resists and chase the miscreants.

Among the injured Akkas Molla, 45, Zakir Haoladar, 30, Jalil Molla, 38, Hassan Haoladar, 14, Hanif Haoladar, 46, Kawsar Haoladar, 28, received gun shot injuries and Sabuj Haoladar, 26, bridegroom, Mijanur Rahman, 35, Shahin, generator operator injured by beating.

Among the injured first eight admitted at Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital, said Dr. Habibur Rahman, emergency medical officer of SBMCH.

Police trying to nab the miscreants and recover the looted goods, said Nalcity police station officer in charge.
