Hartal under way in Barisal only stopping long route vehicles

4toh4dxsThe second day of two-day shutdown called by the Jamaat e Islami Bangladesh demanding release and protesting Supreme Court verdict of war criminal Delwar Hossain Sayedee observing loosely and peacefully in Barisal on Sunday.

Pro-hartal activists brought out sudden processions (Jhatika Michhil) at C and B Road, Kashipur, Nabagram, Kawnia, Hatkhola, College Avenue areas in the city on early morning.

Except suspension of long route road transports, other types of communications including water transportation functioning normally with less number of passengers.

Big showrooms, shops, commercial areas were closed, transactions in financial institutions, attendances in educational institutions, judicial, administrative offices were less than normal days in Barisal on Thursday.

Law enforcing agencies patrolling on city roads to control any situation, told Shakhawat Hossain, Kotwali police station in charge.

Islami Chhatra Shibir Barisal city unit president Ahmad Shihab said central committee asked to observe Hartal peacefully and so
activities like long-time road blocks and steady picketing were not held.
