Rest three of the five accused for torturing Ripa Aktar in Barisal arrested from Patuakhali and Jhalakathi

Police on Saturday arrested rest three of the five accused from Patuakhali and Jhalakathi for torturing teenage Ripa Aktar in Barisal.
Shahadat Hossain Mithu, torturer boyfriend, arrested from Patuakhali, Shamsu alias Masum Hawlader and Rafiq Akand, associates of Mithu, arrested from Nalcity of Jhalakathi districts on Saturday as accused in the case lodged by the victim.
The operation for arresting the main torturer boyfriend and his associates were operated by Abdur Rouf, deputy commissioner (south) BMP, Md. Mahmud, assistant commissioner, Sub Inspector Mohiuddin, Sub Inspector Shamim Hossain, of Kotwali police station.
Barisal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Shamsuddin in a press briefing at BMP headquarter on Saturday afternoon disclosing the facts said Hosneara Begum and Altaf Hossian Altaf Hossian alias Shanu Hawlader, parent of Mithu, were arrested earlier.
Now all of the five accused in the case lodged by the victim Ripa Aktar were arrested within five-day of the incident and three-day of rescue and lodging case, BMP commissioner said.
Police seriously investigating the case as the incident created sensations in the media and locality, police officials told.
Ripa, 18, was being chained up and beaten for around 11 hours under the open sky overnight allegedly by her boyfriend Shahadat Hossain Mithu, 20, and his parents and associates who were pressing her to withdraw two cases earlier filed against Mithu.
Police with the help of local ward councilor rescued Ripa on Tuesday September 23 morning and Ripa lodged case against five accused including torturer boyfriend Mithu, his parents and two associates on early Wednesday September 24.
Right activists on Thursday organized human chain, agitation procession and handed over memorandum in Barisal protesting torturing teenage Ripa Aktar by boyfriend and his family members after chaining in front of their home.
The victim was sent to shelter home after recording judicial statement of the victim on Thursday noon.
The matter received wide publicity and criticism in media about the role of law enforcers and right activist about late responses against torturing a girl by chaining in front of the house of torturers.
